Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a technique used to dismantle the walls we build between ourselves and our trauma. When those walls go up, all emotional processes are suspended, preventing us from moving past our experience. Through EMDR, we can access our trauma and the feelings around it, see it from a new perspective, and heal. As the name suggests, EMDR incorporates eye movements, hand tapping, or sound. Most importantly, it is an effective treatment for a variety of conditions.

Improving Health with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
World Health Organization Recommended
Did you know that the World Health Organization (WHO), which unites and gathers information from over 190 countries, recommended EMDR for those who have post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)? It is now a widely accepted form of treatment for trauma and loss. You can read more about what the WHO had to say here.
PTSD, Depression, & Anxiety
One meta-analysis shows how EMDR is really helpful across many cultures and in both adults and children. EMDR has evidence that shows that it can lessen symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other issues related to trauma. In some of these studies, it has been shown to be even better than some forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Other studies in this review concluded that EMDR even significantly lessened symptoms of depression and anxiety.
